OBX Oyster Tours - Taste of the Beach
Chef and oyster expert Dan Lewis (formerly of Coastal Provisions Oyster Bar) again invites you to learn about and enjoy oysters first hand with the help of coastal experts, oyster farmers and a favorite local wine bar. The tour starts at the Wanchese office of the NC Coastal Federation to learn oyster basics and their beneficial impacts on the environment, at their demonstration oyster lease. Then you’ll drive over to Oregon Inlet Fishing Center and go out on a real oyster farm, Savage Inlet Oysters, with growers Bobby and Stephanie Smith. Then the tour will end at Duck Woods Country Club for a tasting of NC Oysters from club Chef Lewis.
Beverages will also be available for purchase at the club by credit card only. Transportation between locations not included, Groups size limited to 6 people due to size of oyster boat. Dress appropriately for the weather, and with comfortable footwear for the boat.
