40th Annual New World Festival of the Arts
World-class artists will travel to the Manteo waterfront for the Annual New World Festival of the Arts. The free, outdoor show will feature art from exhibitors including watercolors, oil & acrylic, drawings, photography, jewelry, sculpture, and pottery. A special Awards reception will be available on Tuesday, August 16th at 5 p.m. and will be free and open to the public.
New World Festival of the Arts is an annual juried outdoor festival featuring fine art and fine craft. Hosted by Dare County Arts Council and the Town of Manteo, the Festival provides local and regional artists an opportunity to display and sell their creative work. The Festival has been a Manteo tradition for decades, providing awareness of current trends in the visual arts.
Originally started 1981 by Manteo business owner Edwards Greene, New World Festival of the Arts acquaints visitors and locals alike with the town of Manteo bringing an average of 5,000 to 6,000 attendees to the each year. NWFA is now in its 40th year of presenting a show of the region's finest artists in an outdoor, festival atmosphere.
