Race on the Runway
Whether you are a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to experience our regional airport, Race on the Runway will deliver! We are proud to offer a variety of races including the 1-mile, "Taxi-Trot" fun-run; the "Flight Deck" 5k, and the areas only 10k, "The Tarmac 10k." All proceeds from this event will support Kids First, Inc. whose mission is to provide help, healing, and hope to children in northeastern North Carolina who have been sexually or physically abused or neglected.
Runners and walkers' welcome! We recommend that strollers and dogs (leash required) start at the back. If you don't have a pup and want to walk one, let us know and the local SPCA will provide a friendly dog that will certainly enjoy the experience with you!
This isn't the only event of the day -- stay after the race to enjoy the free Planes and Plows festival which will host multiple vendors, games, food trucks and plane rides.
