Killer Dunes 2-Miler and Fun Run
Start off your Independence Day weekend on the Outer Banks by completing a two mile course on the tallest natural sand dune in the Eastern United States! Attracting runners looking for a "unique" challenge, and drawing a very competitive field, participants are also welcome to walk the course instead (not "just a walk in the park" though). A quarter-mile Fun Run will follow at 9:15am.
Presented by the Outer Banks Running Club, the race proceeds will benefit Friends of Jockey’s Ridge, a local non-profit dedicated to supporting, preserving, & enhancing Jockey's Ridge State Park. The event willl be timed by Mettle Events and awards will be presented to all Finishers, the Top 3 Males and Top 3 Females overall, and to the top 3 finishers in each Age Group. Post-race refreshments available for all participants.
Online registration is open until Wednesday, July 1 at 10:00am. On-site registration may be available at packet pick up on Thursday, July 2 from 4pm – 7pm at Jockey’s Ridge State Park (Milepost 12; Highway 158) and on Race Day from 7:30am-8:15am if the event is not sold out.
