Corolla Fish Report
We have a nice day this morning. The fishing in Corolla has been slow with out a doubt but there are fish on the move and we should start to see some significant improvement before to long. We have 2 foot waves today with a whopping 57 degree water temp with the wind out of the west at 8 kts and it's calm. There is still a moderate rip current today so beware and it may take some extra weight to stay ancored. Down in Hatteras the drum bite slacked a bit with a few getting caught but there are plenty of blow toads, mullet, bluefish and sharks to be caught. We are seeing blow toads, sharks, mullet and some good size blues north of the bridge. The piers are catching mullet. blues, trout and toads this morning. I think today we may see some decent fishing turn on today and for the rest of the week if we can maintain a good water temp. In the sound the boats a catching striper and trout. Nearshore trips are decking false albacore, bluefish and we are seeing the mackerel coming in to play also. Offshore boats are getting there limits of yellowfin and mahi and don't be surprised to hook a marlin or sailfish they are out there. All in all the fishing is really starting to fire up.
