It was just too beautiful a day out yesterday not to wet some lines. Nice emerald green clear water and I hit the beach around 2:30 pm to 4 pm not long but it sure was enjoyable. Lost a couple on bait but picked up 6 blues on a lure so not too bad. I also saw some blues schooling and jumping but just out of casting range for me. It seems to be quiet up here in Corolla today but there were bluefish around yesterday. Jennette's pier did report one spanish caught along with blues and mullet and we are seeing some warmer water to the south so hopefully it starts pushing its way up here as we are still at 56 today. The ocean today is flat and calm which in my opinion we need those larger waves to improve the fishing they stir up the food which brings in the fish. No matter the case the beaches are wide open you can fish anywhere you want because there are not many people on the beach so good fishing or not you just can't beat it right now. The offshore fishing is still strong with some nice yellowfin, mahi, and even some marlin. The nearshore fishing has improved with dogfish, trout, and drum. Sound side in Currituck there are a lot of good size trout as well
