June is here. The fishing picked up this morning, and Spanish and Blues were in the surf early this morning. The photo sent in by Brendon who I call our resident fisherman was hitting the beach this morning with his dog Cali getting most of the action. Lures were working the best. Jennette's pier also had an early run of these guys and there were a lot of boats and kayakers around Avalon Pier today so there was a big school of fish out there. We also had some drum today and we know there is mullet out there as well. In the next couple of days, we see good weather and wind along the beach so some exciting fishing should happen. Today we have 1 to 2' waves with the water temp just about at 70 degrees and clean and clear. Nearshore action has been the cobia with trout, blues and Spanish. Offshore had a good day on the tuna yesterday.

Need a charter we have them and by the way, our crabbing boat is action ready to go and the shrimping starts July 1st. We also offer 1/2 day fishing trips to all day, call the shop for details.

Send your photos and questions to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com  and we thank you.
