Mystery Fish Still Wreaking Havok!!! This fish has stolen not one but two rods and reels so far this week ripping them right into the water not to be seen again. We have also seen some rigs completely torn up and some of these rigs were extremely heavy-duty and cut in half. So far the the mystery fish is winning the battle for at least now.

Today's photos were of some youngsters out on our first surf fishing lesson trip and they did quite well catching all the mullet they wanted and some very big sting rays unfortunately the sharks did not want to play this evening but they had a great time. Just so you know we just started offering these trips for folks wanting to learn what to look for and how to fish the beach. You can also learn how to catch and release sharks. These trips run 250.00 for up to 4 people per class and these trips can be early morning or in the evening transportation is included to go and fish the 4x4 beach you can check out the new tab on our website.

In other news I did get a report of a really good drum bite up in Carova last night around 11 pm and from what I hear it was a good one. The water during the last couple of days has been dirty with this easterly wind slowing the fishing down somewhat but over all the fishing has been pretty good with a bunch of mullet, croakers, trout, drum, blues, sharks, and some big sting rays this week. The piers last night reporting mostly croakers but there has been a mix of fish on them. Nearshore boats were on drum and spanish yesterday while the offshore fleet was out getting yellowfin, mahi, tilefish, sea bass, and some nice amberjacks at the towers. So this week has had some excitement to it we will keep you posted as things happen.

Charters are available from 1/2 day to full day, crabbing trips are also running, and don't forget about the surf fishing lessons too. Call the shop for details and booking.
