Skate for bait. That is what young Peyton and his brother Breaden used to catch a 95' and a 99' sand tiger shark. The shark fishermen are having a great time catching sharks this week and there have been a good amount of them caught so far this week. As far as the normal fishing I have to assume we are still getting plenty of croaker, mullet, and spot out there. Over the weekend it just takes time before you hear much of anything from the beach. The weather is not the best this week yesterday it was pretty windy but the ocean is flat and we do still have a fairly strong current and sea grass hitting the lines from time to time. The water temp is still all over the place and has been hard to get any accurate readings. This week we will have to take what we get as probably starting Wednesday the weather will start to go south so to speak as Debbie approaches and the path at this time is uncertain. The best thing to do is enjoy the next couple of days and we will keep you updated.

We do have charters, surf and shark fishing lessons and our crab and shrimp boat is also doing well and the shrimping is pretty good right now. Call the shop and reserve your day on the water.

Don't forget to send those fishing photos to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and we thank you all.
