Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

Well, you have heard of the Good, Bad and the ugly before I'm sure and that's what the surf has been as of late. We have an extremely high tide and has had the water right up to the dunes making little to no beach to fish from. Now for these incoming folks asking for a fish report when there is no beach to fish from, ummmmm if you cant get out there to fish it is hard to have a fish report, luckily the fish market is open!! Like I said the tide is high but it is going to drop a little as the week goes on so hopefully we get some beach back. The good news and I know you have to make the drive but sources have it there was a huge drum bite this afternoon on Jennette's pier all the fish 40" plus. I can't think of a better reason to make the drive south instead of fighting these waves and current we are still under double red flags. So picture this 3' to 5' foot waves, extreme high tide and a current so strong that from Corolla you could be in Nags Head in 20 minutes but the water is warm at 74. Eight oz to hold bottom right now but we do have fresh mullet. That's it in a nut shell we just need it to calm down a touch. My charter boat up in Corolla the captain says the fishing is as good as it gets on the sound side they are getting some beautiful drum right now.

Charters are open and available!!
