Corolla to Nags Head Piers
Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

The bite was on yesterday! Today's photos were sent in by Dain Phelan, fishing in the Ocean Sands area, and he said he hit a bluefish blitz. He did say he had to wade out to the dark blue water, but then it was game on, and he was throwing a lure!! The dolphins were out there eating the blues as well so what a time he must have had. Michael Sibley sent in his photo of a good-sized blue as well, caught right in Corolla. So it seems like we had a turnaround yesterday, and the fishing picked up. We are in for a hot week, so hopefully things continue down the right path. The piers also saw a good bluefish run. The nearshore fleet yesterday had spanish, blues, bonita, and a few mahi. The offshore boats had yellowfin, wahoo, mahi, tilefish, and false albacore. The ocean this morning is flat with clean water, with a temperature of around 68 degrees.

Charters are available for you to enjoy, and you can use the shop for bookings.

Send your fishing photos and become a star for the day in the next fishing report. Send photos to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and we thank you
