Offshore from Oregon Inlet
Inshore from Oregon Inlet
Corolla to Nags Head Piers
Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

Day 1 of the beginning to the end, which is a long way off. Hard to get any info this early in the season, but I did dig up some info. The water in Corolla is still cold, and the wind is blowing today, making surf fishing difficult. We have heard of one striper caught, but that really is a fluke. We are seeing slow action, but there are croakers, skate, and dogfish to be had at this time, both surf and piers. Most of the action is way down at Hatteras where there is a large body of warm water coming from the south and moving north, and it is coming right up the coastline and shooting off into open ocean from the Hatteras point. It's going to take time for that warm water to wrap around and come back in to us, but it is on the move. Remember it is still very early in the season up here.

Some good news for those of you wanting to do a charter. I spoke to Captain James on the Hitman this morning and he is ready to roll, and the good news is that, and this doesn't happen often, but on four and six hour charters he is catching GIANT BLUEFIN right along the shoreline, so you are not going way out into open water. They are in close and these fish are coming in at 150 to 200 pounds, so if your interested in the very near future while these fish are here, it's a good time to get a fish of a lifetime. Call the shop to book.

That's about all I have for now, and info will be hard to come by for a while. I can't even get a water temp right now, but I believe we are in the upper 40s to low 50s at this time.
