Corolla Fish Report

This has been a rough week, but today does not look too bad. There were good conditions this morning, but the wind is beginning to pick up this afternoon, and the water looks much better than it has been, it is fairly clear. The waves will die down on Monday, and it is looking good for next week with a favorable wind as well. The charter fleet should be back in business, as they should be back to running. We will also have some good air temperatures for next week. Now, we just need the ocean to warm up and kick the season off. Most, if not all, of the action is to the south, heading down to Hatteras, as the water is sitting at 64 degrees with drum, striper, and other assorted fish. Up here, we are still dealing with dogfish and skate as the water temp is still cold. The piers are doing the same, with Jennette's still closed due to maintenance.
The charter desk is open for early bookings along with surf fishing lessons and shrimp and crabbing trips, but the shrimping does not start till July 1st. Book ahead of time to get your time slot.
