Corolla Fish Report
Heading into Memorial weekend as we kick off the season. It is cloudy, and that's going to last for about a week with pop-up showers, but it's not as bad as it sounds. Today is cooler, but it's not bad out considering some of the sunburns I have seen. The fishing, for the most part, has been steady for most anglers, and with the water temp heating up to 65 degrees is just going to help. Today's pics were sent in by Kevin from Virginia, and he has had a steady bite on the mullet with a few skate, so something is always better than nothing. There are plenty of bluefish out there as well. Just a bit of info, Avalon pier is open, and Jennette's pier is open; however, Nags Head pier, I understand, is closed, just putting it out there. The piers report bluefish, sheepshead, and mullet. The nearshore fleet is getting its share of the cobia, bluefish, spanish. The offshore fleet, as I reported, was slow, but it did not take any time for it to rebound. A whole bunch of good grade mahi, yellowfin, blackfin, wahoo. sailfish, blue marlin, and tilefish, so the boats were busy. If you're not here, you'd better get going; the fun is about to begin.
