Corolla Fish Report
Let's Ketchup!! Well, we did get some reports in yesterday, but first, Andrew sent in his photo, and he has been shark fishing and landed a nice one!! Michael sent in his pic of a nice drum, so well done, you guys. I do have more pics that I will save for tomorrow, sent in by the Queen of the sea, as I call her. So, the last couple of days, I have not heard too much from anyone until yesterday afternoon. Several people have said they were hit hard by something and managed to play it for a short time before getting broke off. One customer had a video of some schooling fish of some kind, but I just couldn't identify what type of fish they were. They did toss some lures out and got hooked up, just to be broken off, so they lost three lures really quickly. With any luck, hopefully some one lands one of these fish so we can know what's happening, but for now it remains a mystery. The ocean conditions were very good yesterday, and it looks to be just as good this morning as well. Crystal clear water with 1' to 2' foot waves and a water temp of somewhere between 66 to 69. I can't quite get an accurate reading. There is a good bluefish bite going on with some drum, mullet, kingfish, and a striper caught by the queen herself which I will post tomorrow. The piers are seeing bluefish and spanish. The nearshore fleet was busy yesterday with a good amount of cobia, spanish, bluefish, and jackfish. The offshore boats had blue marlin, mahi, yellowfin. tilefish and barracuda. We will see what today has in store for us. Also, it seems to be good fishing for most anglers during low tide as of late, and cut mullet has been the bait of choice for most.
