Corolla to Nags Head Sound

Another nice day, weather-wise. We were closed yesterday, so I have been trying to get caught up today. The weather has been great, but the current has been really tough with mostly double red flags. Today we have yellow, so it's a little better. The fishing has seemed to slow up, but that's probably due to the current and the water temp dropping to 67 for today. I have heard of at least a couple of anglers getting some fish today, but it sounds like most have not found anything. The piers were also slow yesterday, with an early morning bite and then more or less shut off. I am starting to hear some hits starting to pick up this late afternoon, so we will see what happens. There have been bluefish, some spanish, small flounder, and some drum, mullet, and kingfish. The piers reported spanish, blues, and some sand perch for today. The inshore boats reported black drum and sheepshead. Nearshore has good action on the cobia, and there have been some very nice fish landed along with spanish and blues. The offshore fishing is basically red hot right now, with some very nice yellowfin, wahoo, mahi, sailfish, and blue marlin boats coming in loaded.

Charters are open. Call the shop for details.

Send any fishing photos to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com, and we thank you.
