Corolla Fish Report
Taco a look at This! Will get right into it. James sent in some photos fishing in Avalon with his son and caught a bunch of croakers. They read the report daily and decided to make them into some good old-fashioned fish tacos. They are catching some mullet this morning; hope those tacos were good!! Thanks for the reports. Next up, Mark fishing in Ocean Sands, came in for some advice, and our young new employee, Wess set him up with some shrimp and a fish finder, and Mark scored this nice bluefish and a good-size one at that, so well done, Mark. Last but not least, we have young Alexander from New York, who came in to gear up and went down and hit the pier and scored this nice trout on a sabiki rig, so another round of applause for everyone. As far as other news it has been somewhat quite from the surf and there has been no reports to pull from latly but there has been a good bluefish and spanish bite from the piers and we had a report yesterday that there were baitfish pushing into the shore line and a shcool of blacktip sharkes chewing on a school of Atlantic bonita just offshore so conditions do seem to be changing. We still have some really clear water with a temp of 74 today. I do see some favorable winds this week, so don't be surprised if something starts to bust loose. Nearshore charters have had a rough couple of days, as the fishing was off for them as well, but the offshore fleet is pretty good with yellowfin, mahi, tilefish, amberjacks, and they have been catching mahi on some of the tower trips, which we do offer.
Charters are available, and plan on booking early, as spots were hard to find for this week. Call the shop for info and bookings.
Send your fishing pictures in to obxbaitandtackle @ yahoo.com, and we thank you; we got a bunch yesterday!!
