Corolla Fish Report
I wish I had more. Although the weather has not been bad, the fishing has been slow, with most anglers not getting anything or a bunch of skates. Sometimes it's all about being able to read the beach and also being willing to move location. I get it; your house is right behind you, and you don't want to stray too far from the ice chest. But being able to find a good hole is important and also hard to find, as the beach is constantly moving and changing. It's kind of like hide and seek; you have to find the fish. Just simply throwing a line in the water is no guarantee that you're going to catch something; it's just some food for thought. The piers were also slow today, and that also says something. Today's pics came from our captain, Marcus, running the Salty Sol, and our group went out and had a blast getting some nice amberjacks, a king mackerel, and other assorted goodies. You can see all of our charter boats at our web page. Here's a little more info for those thinking of doing a crabbing trip or shrimping trip or both. I spoke to our captain Jamie that runs the crab and shrimp charters and he is doing very well on the crabs and shrimping is excellent this year so a great way to send some family time and leaning how this is done and it is a hands on trip and you keep what you catch and trust me you will be eating good that night. The water temp has been jumping all over the place which would explain the slow fishing at this time. Yesterday it was 68 and this morning it came in at 78 and I am just now checking at 4 o'clock and it is 72 degrees, so it is bouncing all over the place. We do have a little rougher surf this afternoon so with any luck maybe a something will pick up but I shall keep you all posted and FISH-ON.
Charters are available but filling up fast so plan ahead and book early if possible.
