Corolla Fish Report
It's going to be a rainy week. We had a good afternoon storm yesterday, which is usually the norm in the summertime, but then more this morning, and we expect more this afternoon today. It has not been a washout the majority of the day; it is overcast but dry. As far as the fishing goes, I have not heard much of anything from the beach yet. The ocean conditions are still pretty good with clear water, which we have had for most of the season thus far, which has been very nice. The water, however, has been very calm and hardly any waves, which really is not the norm, but you take what you get. The piers are reporting croaker, spot, mullet, black sea bass, and sea robins. The offshore fleet has been doing well with yellowfin and blackfin, with good amounts of mahi and tilefish. The piers are reporting cold water today, while my chart says it's 80 degrees, so we could be seeing some upwelling. Going off what we saw last week, we had drum, mullet, blues, spot, Spanish so things should continue.
