Corolla Fish Report
Tough week. It has not been great conditions here this week. We have a wet one today with rain this morning and later this afternoon. If there is any good news for today is that we will have some openings to get out in between the storms. As usual, some folks aren't getting much, and others aren't hitting anything out of the park but are catching fish. Mostly we have seen mullet, croaker, spot, and the bluefish have kept most people entertained. Some drum have also hit the beach, but the surf remains very flat out there; however, we do have a strong current in the surf today despite the flat conditions out there. Fishbites and mullet have been working in the surf as of late, and when you see the bluefish running is your chance to start throwing lures. Today's pics sent in by dad of young 10-year-old Carter from Virginia, having a good time tugging on some rays and mullets, and doing a little crabbing. They also sent in a pic of a 43# drum he caught, but the pic did not come over; if I do get it, I will post it. This young man is having the time of his life fishing the surf, so great job, Carter keep it up!! The piers are slow this morning, and not many people are on them due to the rain. The long-range boats have not been able to get out due to the wind, but we may see some get out today or tomorrow. The nearshore boats have been running this week but stayed to the inside to beat the wind.
