Corolla Fish Report
Good News! I had good reports coming in yesterday, and I had a photo of one of the drum caught yesterday, but choose not to post it as I believe that they may have kept the fish due to where the photo was taken. The fish was massive and was easily over 50". There were other reports of large drum hitting the beach as well. But I did share a photo of our captain, Marcus, with some sailfish he landed, so a good day on the water for this group. We also had reports of bait balls working the surf, and they had plenty of Spanish and bluefish on them and were hitting metal lures. The bait balls were located off of Lighthouse Drive. Hmm, who do I know that stays on that street here in the near future? Oh well, it will come to me. I also have been picking up reports to the south of king mackerel hitting some lines, and they seem to be moving this way, as Jennette's Pier reported a 38#er yesterday, so don't be surprised if we start to see these fish in our surf, but you will have to be ready for them as they hit hard. The piers also reported Spanish and blues. The nearshore fleet is getting a good assortment of fish, with blues, Spanish, moonfish, and other goodies. The offshore boats have lots of mahi, with a tuna here and there, and some very good marlin and sailfish hitting the lines. At least we have some action going on!!
