Corolla Fish Report
Hot, muggy morning. Well, yesterday I went out with our surf fishing instructor Brendan and our young employee Wes and hit the beach early in the morning. We were at our spot at 6 am just as you could barely see any light, and on the first cast, Brendan hit a bluefish. They continued to bite for about an hour, and that was it. We were just throwing lures and we got nothing on the bait rigs. Plenty of bait in the water, and there were spanish leaping, but no tackers, just blues. It was nice to hit the beach and get out of the shop for a while. The surf fishing, as of late, seems to be very early and late in the evening, with some fish landed during the day, like croakers and mullet. The piers have bluefish and spanish on them this morning. The nearshore boats are getting plenty of spanish mackerel, while the offshore fleet has some mahi, tilefish, sea bass, and plenty of billfish action.
