Corolla Fish Report
Hot and Humid. That is the official word from the beach. The ocean has gone back to being flat today, but the last couple of days we had some rough water for a change, and the fish did come out to play. Yesterday's fishing, I heard, was slow, and I have not heard anything today. The water looked clean this morning, but this afternoon I do see a mud line about 30 to 40 feet from the beach, so you need to get well beyond that into the cleaner water for anything to happen. So what we need is a wind change, and looking at my crystal ball, I see a lot of wind changes this week. I do see at times some good winds, but they don't last long before it shifts again. Thursday and Friday, I do see some good winds that do last for a while, so with any luck, you will have some good windows of opportunity to get some fish. I did not see any pier reports for today and as far as the offshore fleet is doing, there are plenty of billfish to pull on and some mahi, with plenty of tilefish. The nearshore boats yesterday had a good day, but the fishing has been a little up and down.
