Corolla Fish Report
It's going to be a very different week. We are currently catching drum, and most have been well over slot. Today's pics come from our very own captain, Marcus, who runs one of our charter boats. He was in the shop yesterday and was on his way up to Carova, and he got it done. There have been many more caught in the last few days, and my guess is there will be more this week. Starting Monday afternoon, we will get that good ol north east wind that will run until Thursday. The waves will also pick up, so break out the heavy gear, as the light tackle won't cut it, but there should be some good drum fishing. Also, the bluefish have been chewing on the baitfish, and they are abundant out there. We have all of the other goodies out there as well, and there are two days left for flounder season, so the fishing really could not get much better than it is. The piers have spanish and blues. The nearshore fleet has bluefish, Spanish, flounder, sea bass, and more. The offshore boats have sailfish and mahi. Today's water temp is 78 degrees.
On a quick note, our Captain Marcus is going to start to do some evening drum trips. These trips will be from 5 pm to 10 pm and will run $ 650.00, and he is talking about getting the BBQ going to at least have some nibbles while you wait for that bite. He does very well on these trips, and we have had them before; now they're back again, and these trips are a lot of fun. If you're interested, please call the shop for information and bookings.
