Corolla Fish Report
The fishing continues to be good. The ocean has been very calm all season, but by Monday afternoon that will start to change, as the northeast wind will start and will last for at least three days. Today's pics were sent in by the McGarveys, Adam and Caleb, and I think some others in the family, but they have been doing their annual shark fishing trips last week, and I think a couple of them came back this week for some more action, and they are doing a great job catching and releasing these guys. There were more drum caught last night, and during the day you can catch all the mullet, croaker, spot, and pompano you pretty much want. Fish bites, I think, work best for these fish. The spanish and bluefish have been caught at night and during the early morning and dusk hours. That is pretty much what's going on along the shoreline in Corolla. Today and tomorrow, get your flounder caught and fried, as the season will end. The piers have blues, croaker, and spanish. The nearshore fleet: bluefish, spanish, sea bass, flounder. Offshore slowed up a touch, but they did get sailfish and mahi.
