Corolla Fish Report

It has been a busy week, as a lot of folks who could not get down south because Highway 12 was closed came up here!! This week, the weather has been very nice, and the fishing is rebounding. The water has cleaned up; however, there is still a lot of debris in the water and on the beaches. The fishing has been fairly good, with speckled trout, some big spot, and croakers and black drum as well. I am not hearing about any drum, as they were here before the storm. I have heard of a couple of small drum, but that's been it. The ocean has 1 to 2 foot waves with a temp of 71 today. I will say that at high tide, the water comes almost to the dune, leaving not much room to just sit on the beach or even to put your fishing gear anywhere. It could be that there was a lot of sand gone from the storm but I am not sure but I will keep an eye on it. The nearshore fleet are catching plenty of Spanish mackerel, and the offshore boats have yellowfin and, mahi, with some billfish.
Charters are back up and running; call the shop to book your trip.
