Well, the fishing was really good yesterday. We had a lot of reports that as soon as that bait hit the water, the fish were on it. Lots of trout, spot, big croakers, with some black drum. Chunk, mullet, shrimp, and fish bites were all working. The time to be out there was early morning, and when the tide came in, folks said the bite would shut down. Today has been quiet, and I have not heard much, which is kind of surprising, but that's also fishing, isn't it? Good one day and slow the next. A lot of people have been saying that the beach is really flat and shallow, and I have not had a chance to put eyes on the beach myself, but I can imagine what it's like, as that nor'easter really pulled a lot of sand from the beach. The ocean is flat today and a little off-color, with the high tide still leaving little room to sit on the beach. The nearshore fleet has all the spanish you want, and long range boats did hit some yellowfin and loads of mahi. We do expect some rain for tomorrow and on Sunday, with the rest of the week looking pretty good with a strong northeast wind on Tuesday, so get your drum gear ready!!

Charters are open and ready are you? Call the shop to book your trip.

Send your fishing photos to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and get in the next fish report, and we thank you.
