Corolla Fish Report
Good Monday morning, if there ever was such a thing. The last couple of days, it has been a little drizzly out, and we have that northeast wind with us this week. The good news is the drum are back to biting. Today's pics were sent in by Captain Marcus, who runs the Salty Sol for us, and if you ever get a chance to fish with him, you won't be disappointed; the man is a fishing machine. These fish were caught right up here on the 4x4 beach, and they caught several drum and lost one in the surf. Eric Sheilbley sent in his photos, and this is his first trip to Corolla and so far says he is loving it, and the proof is in the picture as he usually stays down south but my guess is that he may be back in the future. The ocean is a little rough but not too bad, and the water temp came up just a touch to 73 today. I think because of the weather I am not hearing much from the beach on the other fish, but we have had plenty of trout, croakers, mullet, and some sharks. I do see a wind shift for Wednesday and Thursday, so you should be able to get out there and have some decent weather as the wind will turn to the south east which there should be some good fishing days. No boats went out yesterday but Saturday a couple did get out and the yellowfin were biting along with mahi so a good day on the water.
