A wet start to a new week. We will have a couple of rainy days ahead of us, and so far this morning, just a little drizzle. The drum fishing has been good the last couple of days, and I believe the first set of pictures sent in by Nelson, if I have his name right, had been in for a new reel and rod, and he didn't waste any time putting it to work, and they hit a couple of real nice drums and a sand tiger, so these two were very happy. The next set of picks were sent in from Tony and crew, and with a very similar story, with some nice drum and shark, so great work to everyone. I had a bunch of reports from the beach, and there were a lot of drum caught along with trout and some bluefish. The fishing has been very good up here on the northern beaches, and fishermen were not complaining at all, with good, steady action. With any luck for those of you coming in, the fishing will continue once we get past these wet days. The piers were a little up and down yesterday; perch, puffers, and trout were on the menu, and offshore boats were loaded up with blackfin, yellowfin, and king mackerel. Today we have 1- to 2-foot waves with some wind chop from the northeast and a water temp of 69 degrees.

You can send your fishing photos to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com, and we thank you.
