A Good day in the outer Banks. We have some good news for a change, we had several anglers come in with reports. It sounds like the fishing has finally pick up a bit with the mullet biting again and large bait schools in the area, which will bring in the eaters!! Reports of fish hitting on the shrimp again and the blood worms and I had some say the fish bites were also working. Then report yesterday that some king mackerel were possibly out there could be another culprit know as a southern sennett. These fish were caught to the south but it doesn't mean they couldn't be around here. These are a barracuda type of fish with razor sharp teeth as seen above. We are seeing mullet, puppy drum, flounder and yes still out of season. There should be trout, Spanish and some blues, spot, and croakers.  The sound side for those you are staying on that side continue to do very well on black drum and puppy drum.
The piers have mullet, Spanish, puppy drum and flounder for the most part and the nearshore boats have seen a vast improvement. Still finding ribbonfish, Spanish, seabass, amberjacks, false albacore and tilefish? I guess anything is possible. On the inside the drum bite continues to be strong along with the trout.
Offshore action is just that yellowfin hitting the rail along with blackfin and a good strong bite on the dolphins. The deep drops are producing seabass and tilefish. Our captain Troy was on a deep drop yesterday and they had there limit of tiles in an hour so he asked if they wanted to troll around and see if they could find anything, and low and behold a big old blue marlin hit and these newbies got a chance to catch one of these beautiful creatures and have a memory for life!!
The water today is 73 degrees  and the wind SSE at 6 kts. Not to bad!!

Send those photos in to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and thanks to all with you walk in reports yesterday!!
