Corolla Fish Report
One angler scored in Pine Island yesterday with a 37" drum. I wish I could share the picture but they did not send one in, but it was good to see some bigger fish hitting. With the rougher surf, this does spawn some better fishing if you can keep your gear out there. There has been a good bite on the mullet, spot, croaker some drum, and blues. Baits of choice have been blood worms, sand fleas, shrimp, fish gum, and mullet heads.
The piers have some ribbonfish, flounder, mullets, and blues. The nearshore boats are getting ribbonfish and plenty of them. The drum and trout still to the inside. The offshore boats had only a few that made it out due to the swell but the ones that went were rewarded with tuna, wahoo, mahi, and a very good white marlin bite.
We have a makeup trip for an all day offshore if anyone is interested. The dates are flexible from 8/23 to 8/28 we are looking for a group of two or four people to share a boat. Call the shop for more info if interested at 252-453-3339
Waves are around 2 to 3 feet with a temp of 76 today.
