Offshore from Oregon Inlet
Inshore from Oregon Inlet
Corolla to Nags Head Piers
Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

Cool and windy is what we have today and summer seems to be having a hard time getting started. Brittany sent in a photo of dad aka John from Ohio scored himself a nice 27" drum yesterday on cut bait again hint hint, and as John says simple fishing at its best so great job John, and thanks for sharing the photo. It's defiantly windy today but the surf is going to be flat till Sunday. I am hearing that the rip current is going to be high so you may have to break out the heavy gear to get out. The mullet bite the last couple of days has been good and we are starting to see more quality fish come in. The water is holding at 61degrees which is going to help.
The piers can be a great way to beat the wind and use it to your advantage and there is some really good fishing going on down at OBX pier yesterday and this morning. A good rum of puppy drum and larger drum being caught along with some big trout and black drum with a good rum of mullet. I believe ramp 55 is having some good fishing also. The little bridge scored some nice trout on lures as well and I think if we can get a couple more degrees in water temp we will start to see some good fishing up here as well.
Some offshore boats did make it out yesterday and had a good rum on yellowfin, blackfin, wahoo and some nice mahi with a sail caught too. The inshore guys found some puppy drum and trout and Spanish to tug on so despite some windy weather some people are finding some good fishing.

Charters for June are booking up fast so if your planning on one get your booking in to ensure your spot.

Send those photos to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com we do appreciate them !!  We will keep you up to speed on what's going on up here.
