Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

We want to congratulate Alex King from Amelia, VA on his catch and he caught a whopper of a drum Sunday night on a live minnow and that's how it's done folks so great job Alex, and thanks for the photo!! We have some wind this afternoon and rain coming later and tomorrow morning, how much we will just have to wait and see. There was some good drum catches yesterday with some Spanish and blues with mullet and all the other suspects but it's good to see the drum moving in up here. The water temp today is 79 so it's holding on the warm side so far. Good mix of fish on the piers this morning as well with Spanish, ribbons, bar jacks, spadefish, and a lesser amberjack. We did get some charters out this morning while the getten was good but there were some all days that were canceled due to the wind and there is a big swell offshore for today and tomorrow so hopefully Friday the offshore fleet can get back at it but they did have a good day yesterday with plenty of flags flying. Lots of sailfish and blue marlin were caught and released with wahoo, mahi, tuna and tiles so they got it done in the nick of time. Nearshore may have struggled a bit but came back with albacore and ribbons. The shrimping right now is very good as you can see in the photo and these trips are booking out every week this time of year because it's that time of the season to get the big ones.

Charters are available next week and very limited spots on the crab and shrimp trips so call ahead and reserve your spot today!!

Send your photos to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com  And we thank you!!
