Inshore from Oregon Inlet
Corolla to Nags Head Piers
Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

Fantastic weather we are having. The beaches are wide open to drive on with no permits so it's time to get out there and fish. The fishing along the beach sounds like it's pretty decent. We still hear about complaints that folks are catching fish but just not the ones they want and I really have no answer for these people. You can't throw a line out there and expect a certain kind of fish to hit it as far as I know it doesn't work that way. Along the beach right now we are seeing black drum in the 12" size along with croaker, spot, mullet and there have been some puppy drum out there too. I think it will remain that way till we see a wind shift from the North which we will see Wednesday, Thursday, and maybe get some residuals Friday so these would be the days I would be looking for and although it will be rougher the drum-like it that way so if your looking for a bigger fish thises will be your days to fish. Just some food for thought.
The piers this morning are seeing blues, spanish, and mullet. I mentioned it the other day but there is a new pier down at Oregon Inlet that has just opened and it's part of the old Bonner bridge that they turned into a pier so it's worth checking it out I should be down there next week at some time to see it myself and I will let you all know it looks to be pretty good fishing grounds. The nearshore fleet is finding ribbon fish and some big spanish while on the bayside there are getting striper, trout, and flounder which you have to throwback. For the offshore fleet, they are coming home with yellowfin and blackfin tuna for yesterday's catch and every day can be different out there and the weather is fantastic for the rest of the week so a great time to take advantage of and get out there.
The water temp is holding steady at 73 with calm conditions today.
