Catch up Tuesday. We have a bit of a rough one on the beach today the waves are up and windy. If you know what your doing there are fish out there. We have seen some large drum hit the beach this week and although it's rough today the rest of the week looks good. Took the day off and had captain Marcus call me up and said let's go fishing and how could I say no. Headed out just before daybreak on a beautiful day. Scored 24 mahi lost three had a large wahoo break the line right at the boat and then the one that for away was a monster ? Ether a giant wahoo or marlin we all saw the hit and had it on the line for about ten minutes before pulling the hook and that's just the way it goes but had a great day. There is some good fishing about 20 miles out so if you want to get some good table fare we have a trip for you. Now back to the office bla. One picture of a slot-size drum sent in by a local this morning found a spot with no one fishing it and it paid off its all about knowing where to look. The rest of the week as I said will be better than today and there has been good fishing most of this week. The water temp did fall today to 64 which could have something to do with the slow fishing today. All-day nearshore trips like the one I did yesterday did very well on mahi, wahoo, and tiles.  The shorter trips had bluefish, Spanish, and ribbons. Offshore hit yellowfin, big eye wahoo, and marlin.

Charters are available for later this week and beyond but I am seeing a trend of people waiting till the last minute this week. Don"t do it if you can we are still booking out and by waiting you may not get a spot book ahead of time and save yourself and me the aggravation

Send your photos and questions to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and we thank you..
