Corolla Fish Report
A rainy hump day indeed. Here we go again with foul weather and this June has been a disappointment, to say the least. Looking at just the whole month we have seen some nice catches but as a whole, it still remains slow along the beach despite the good ocean conditions we have had. The water today is 72 with 4 to 6-foot waves and a gusty southeast wind. Reports of a lot of salps along the beach and your line which just adds to the slow fishing. Harmless but a pain in the well you know where I am going. I do hear some action down south in Nags Head and the inlet of some fish and there have been supposedly a good spanish run off of Jennette's pier. Good trout fishing from the guided fishing down at the inlet on the inside. Lately, nearshore fishing has yielded spanish and bluefish. The offshore fishing has been good if you can get the fish past the sharks and onto the deck. The fleet is still getting a good number aboard of tuna, wahoo, mahi, blue marlin, tilefish, and a cobia here and there. We will take it day by day as we have more rain in the forecast for the weekend though may just be scattered showers.
The rain will affect the charters fleet but we do have openings available call the shop for info.
