Corolla Fish Report
The start of the 4th of July week is here and people are pilling in. We have a hot one today and is supposed to get hotter which does feel good but we have had a mild June so a bit of a shock. I had to fix yesterday's report the pictures for some reason didn't load yesterday but there up today of David's shark, sorry David.
New people hitting the beach this week and let's hope for some action. The water temp and conditions are nice today and I think the current has calmed itself down it had been ragging and from what I heard quite a few rescues from people getting swept out. We are hearing from the beach some hits and misses and the fishing isn't stellar by no means but the sun is out and the water is warm. Mullet, blues, flounder, croakers, spot, and a few trout for last week. We did have a star gazer caught this last week as well which you didn't see many so if you do catch one be extremely careful they can pack a punch. Not only can they discharge 50 volts of electricity they also have a poisonous spine that can kill you. So if you don't know what's on the end of your line treat it like a bad fish. Nearshore boats have spanish, trout, ribbonfish, and blues. The extended trips are getting some mahi, amberjacks, and false albacore. Offshore fishing has been decent the tuna today was a bit shy but o good load of mahi and some big tiles.
We have charter trips available this holiday week just give us a call and enjoy a day on the water.
So as far as the new fishing licensing system from the state that started today well it sucks and we for now not doing any more licensing until we can figure out how to make it more streamlined the new prosses take too long and there are a lot of other issues. Doing one for yourself is not that bad but trying to do hundreds a day is a whole nother story.
