Corolla Fish Report
It's Sunday and boy is it HOT OUT!! Not sure how long this southwest wind we have is going to last this week I will have to try and take a look tomorrow. The water temp turned around from the other day from 68 to 81 today. So when you catch a fish it's already poached for your enjoyment. Tom hit the shop as always today and spends a lot of time on the island and gave a report and we have POMPANO finally now they are small but hey you never know we may see some larger fish come up with these temps. The bluefish are out there along with croaker, spot, mullet with some drum and trout. I had a customer come in yesterday and asked if I did the report to which I answered yes he said I always read it but this year I haven't been too sassy and I laughed, but he is right but I just haven't had much to complain about this year which also made me think I have also just fallen into this rut of just spitting out what going on and where. The answer is I have a hard time this year keeping up with everything and being understaffed as always and sometimes not even getting the report out and this time of the year just plain outright exhaustion. I will try harder I just need someone to piss me off so I can go on a rant I guess. The shark fishermen should do it give me time. We may see slower fishing this week just due to the wind which is affecting the Allice Kelly tournament going on right now. However, there is still some good offshore fishing to be had with some tuna, wahoo, mahi, blue marlin, white marlin, and sailfish. We also have some good charter fishing right in Corolla with Captain Josh sound side he has been doing very well with slot-size drum, black drum, and trout it is a fun trip. Nearshore trips seeing ribbonfish, blues, spanish, with some amberjacks to be had as well. So ready for some fun!!
