Finally a good morning. The weather at least for fishing hasn't been good strong wind and strong currents have just made it hard to keep a line in the water. It has also really slowed down up here as far as tourists go so the beach is pretty wide open. Today we have calm SSE wind which is good so today is a good day to wet a line. Because of the light foot traffic, I am not hearing much from off of the beach a mullet here and a bluefish there but again the weather has not been stellar. The piers this morning showing some signs of life with spanish, bluefish, sheepshead, and triggerfish so remember southeast wind is good. Nearshore boaters getting into spanish, bluefish, ribbonfish, and some false albacore. The offshore fleet had a productive day yesterday and brought home some good-sized yellowfin, mahi, wahoo, tilefish, sailfish and all of the boats had blue marlin so everyone had a good day on the water. The cover photo today was sent in by John Gault who is a resident up on the Carova beach and has decided to take up fishing recently and he caught his first drum a couple of days ago when the weather was a little rough but nonetheless a nice catch. No one this week has said anything about the secret phrase so no winners so far this week but then again it has been slow. This morning is beautiful out so take advantage of it as we do have some bad weather coming for sure on Thursday.

We do have some great charters available just call the shop for details and we will do the rest.

Send your photos to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and we thank you.
