Corolla Fish Report
The Great Drum Run!! Cathy Grant from NJ caught yet another puppy today and sent in her pic so thank you Cathy. I have had more reports of puppy drum and slot size being caught. The water temp today is 78 and we are also seeing small pompano, spot and mullet but the drum bite has been good. A late afternoon drum bite on the piers yesterday and they were over slot but some nice fish and we are seeing pompano from the piers to. The boaters doing well on the inside of the sound so maybe we are making up for what we lost this spring. In any case will take it. Nearshore charters have a mixed bag with trout and drum on the inside and blues, ribbons, spanish and false albis on the out side with extended trips getting amberjacks. The offshore fleet has plenty of gamefish right now lots of sailfish, white marlin, blue marlin, mahi, wahoo and blackfin tuna and boats are getting there fare share. So for right now its hot outside and the fishing is good but this weather wont last but a few more days as hurricane lee makes it are way even a miss we will see a large swell and rip currents, but for now just enjoy the moment.
Charters are available till the seas say we can't go call for details.
Send your fishing pic to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and we thank you.
