Corolla Fish Report
Back at it!! I am sure a lot of you have been in withdrawals since I seem to disappear right in the middle of some good drum action up here and there's good news and bad news. The bad news is I caught a bug that kicked my ass for three days so I was not in the shop and feeling better but not 100% yet. The good news is that you haven't missed anything!! How is that possible you ask well due to Hurricane Lee passing by which has now passed the waves were big and the water was high on the beach unless you were on some good medication there was no reason to be on the beach. The surf was still mean this morning but the waves will come down this evening and remain around three feet for the rest of the week so that's good. The only thing I don't know is what the current is going to do but hopefully, it dies down so we can get back to fishing. I did see some reports the last couple of days where people posted some pics and off of Jennette's pier there were hundreds of drum and this morning all of the piers were hitting big drum and some were whoppers. When the surf is high and the current is bad the piers are a good way to beat Mother Nature and use her to your advantage, yes you may have to take a drive but this time of the year it can be worth it. With any luck, we will return to normal and see the fishing pick back up. It's funny we had drum hitting in Corolla before I saw this many posts down south which isn't the norm. The boating seen well due to the high waves no one has been offshore and we had some windy days too just kept the boats tied up so we should see some reports soon. So As I said You haven't missed anything.
It Is Friday so the secret phrase for the week is to say at check out there is something Freaky out There and you will get 10% off your purchase!!
Charters will be back in operation if interested call the shop for details.
Send your fish photos to obxbaitandtackle@yahoo.com and we thank you.
