OBX History Weekend, Elizabethan Costume & Artifacts Display
Event Description:

The Dare County Arts Council is hosting the OBX History Weekend exhibits on the top floor of the old courthouse. Costumed docents will be in attendance to facilitate public viewing of the exhibits. First Colony Foundation's In Search of Elizabethan America showcases original sixteenth-century items-in tact in juxtaposition with artifacts discovered on Roanoke Island and Site X by archaeologists. Information on panels highlights FCF's 10 year search.

Interpreting the Elizabethans features Elizabethan Costumes, sets and props associated with Elizabeth R & Company's original history plays and production; and museum items from the National Park Service that include arms, armor, displays and reproductions.

Additionally, the work or prototypes of sixteenth-century items scheduled for reproduction by local artisans will be on display.
