The 17th annual Ocrafolk Music and Storytelling Festival will be held in the heart of the village of Ocracoke Island, NC on June 2-4, 2017. The celebration features musicians, storytellers, artisans, and characters of Ocracoke Island and Eastern Carolina. In addition to weekend performances, events include a Friday Night “Taste of Ocracoke,” a fundraising art auction, a Saturday night traditional Ocracoke square dance, and a Sunday morning gospel sing.
New performers this year include The Bucket Brothers, Lipbone Redding, The Oak Grove String Band, and De Tierra Caleinte. Returning entertainers include Donald Davis, Molasses Creek, Kaira Ba, Beleza, Martin Garrish and friends, The Yes Team, Craicdown, Cassie & Maggie MacDonald, Rodney Kemp, Robbie Link and Allison Weiner, Bob Zentz & Jeanne McDougall, John Golden, April Trueblood Jazz Trio, Jef the Mime, The Paperhand Puppets, The Blue Eyed Bettys, Michael Stanwood, The Green Grass Cloggers, Philip Howard, Rob Temple, and Ocrachicks and more.
Ocrafolk Festival is produced by Ocracoke Alive, a community non-profit committed to enriching the Ocracoke Island by encouraging and sponsoring cultural, artistic, educational, and environmental activities including the production of plays, musicals, musical events, exhibits, schools, workshops, and festivals.
