Blackbeard's Half Marathon, 5K & 10K
The Ocracoke runfest weekend is a benefit for Ocracoke Community Radio WOVV, Ocracoke School Athletic Boosters Club, and the Ocracoke Community Park. Choose to run either the Scallywag 5K or 10K or the Blackbeard's 1/2 Marathon. Runner swag includes a technical t-shirt and a finisher medal. If you choose to take on Lt. Maynard's Challenge by running the 5K or 10K AND the 1/2 Marathon, you'll receive an additional finisher Item.

Join us on April 25, 2020 at 8:00am for Ocracoke Island's 5k/10k.

The 5k/10k run will take place in the Village of Ocracoke through historic neighborhoods, by Ocracoke Harbor, and by the 2nd oldest lighthouse in the United States in continuous service. The course is basically flat.

All accommodations are within walking or biking distance to the start/finish line. Bike and golf cart rentals are available. There will be limited parking near the start/finish line.

The top three male and female runners will receive an award as well as the top three male and female finishers of each age category.

All 5k/10k finishers receive a finisher medal.

All 5k/10K runners will receive a high quality t-shirt (sizes not guaranteed after April 8th pre-registration).

Beginning at 11:30am Gaffer's Sports Pub will host post run party. There will be no charge for 5k/10K runners. Food and beverages will be provided.

Join us on Sunday April 26, 2020 at 7:00am for the Half Marathon.

The course, beginning and ending around Gaffers Sports Pub will run North to Cape Hatteras National Seashore using the Ocracoke multi-use trail and will continue to the Ocracoke Park Service Campground. The course will circle the campground and head back South using the multi-purpose trail, leading to the Village of Ocracoke where you will run through quaint neighborhoods. Looking to PR? This is a flat, fast course that will finish at Gaffer's Sports Pub.

Gaffers will host the awards ceremony and post run party starting at high noon. There will be no charge for 1/2 Marathon runners. Food and beverages will be provided.

Mode of transportation is best by bike, golf cart or simply walking. Most of Ocracoke Island consists of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. You will not see any beachfront homes here, only wide open beautiful beaches where shelling is great and recreational opportunities abound.
