Ocracoke Working Watermen's Festival
Event Description:
Celebrate this Ocracoke Heritage Event with its rich history and continuing tradition of working on the water in Ocracoke. Since the first inhabitants of the island, Ocracokers have made their living on the water, the first being pilots who guided ships through the treacherous Ocracoke Inlet, to fishing, crabbing, clamming, oyster harvesting, duck hunting guides, fishing guides, decoy carvers, charter fishermen, beach fishing, fish houses, commercial fishing, all of which continue today, handed down through the generations.
Schedule of events:
3pm-5pm: Oyster Exhibit and Tasting with Local Growers
4pm-6pm: Seafood Sampling with local Seafood from the Ocracoke Seafood Company and NC Catch Chef Ambassador Walker Sullivan.
