Event Description:
The famous Candy Bomber aircraft is coming to Dare County Regional Airport! Experience a reenactment of the 1948-1949 Candy Drop over Berlin by the Candy Bomber Crew with the original Douglas C-54 Spirit of Freedom. The Spirit of Freedom dropped handkerchief parachutes filled with candy to the children during the Berlin Airlift when the city was cut off from receiving supplies. Come experience holiday history with us!
