Dr. Seuss Birthday Breakfast to Promote Youth Literacy
Event Description:
The Outer Banks Woman's Club (OBWC) will partner with the Jolly Roger Restaurant to host a Dr. Seuss Birthday Breakfast! The event will celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday and kick off Read Across America Week, a nationwide reading celebration launched by the National Education Association. This year-round program encourages children and teens to read through engaging events and resources.
During the breakfast, the Jolly Roger will serve a special "Green Eggs and Ham" breakfast and feature the classic movie on their large-screen television. OBWC volunteers will provide face painting and photo opportunities with the beloved Cat in the Hat. The Jolly Roger will offer a complimentary "Green Eggs and Ham" book to the first 50 children.
