National Silent Movie Day
Event Description:
Dare Arts is partnering with The Pioneer Theater to celebrate National Silent Movie Day on Sunday, September 29 at 4pm. Silent Movie Day was established in 2021 by film archivists to celebrate and preserve silent movies. The Pioneer Theater, founded in 1918, is the perfect venue to honor this vital part of cinema history.
The Pioneer Theater will be screening Buster Keaton’s 1928 film Steamboat Bill, Jr., which is a slapstick comedy about a young man who is put to work by his father, a riverboat captain about to be run out of business by a rival with a flashy new paddleboat.
