On Thursday, February 8th, Theatre of Dare will be donating the evening’s ticket sales for "August: Osage County" to fellow local non profit, the OBX Walk Against Addiction. Walk Against Addiction’s mission is to “Raise awareness, fight addiction, and come together as a community to help all who suffer from addiction”. Theatre of Dare has always benefited from the love of the community and are proud to give some of that back to a worthy cause.

The STAR Center Amazon wishlist is now sold out, and we kindly request that no further physical donations be brought or shipped to the Center, as their inventory is now fully stocked. You can still make a donation to the Annual Fund support the mission of the NC Aquariums and help purchase items like specialized medical equipment and supplies, which are not available on Amazon

Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County is planning the sixth State of the Child Conference for March 14, 2024. The goal is to bring greater awareness to issues related to Dare County’s youth, including child care, early learning, child well-being and enrichment/recreation. For more info, visit darekids.org.

The STAR Center sea turtle hospital at the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island is caring for over 100 turtles, and they are in need of supplies. You can help these sick and injured sea turtles by donating to the North Carolina Aquarium Society (use code: SEATURTLES2024), becoming a Sea Turtle STAR, or purchasing items from the Aquarium's Amazon Wishlist.

“Keeping it local whenever we can” is the name of the game, and this weekend we’re excited to be featuring FRESH LOCAL RADISHES from Island Farm on our English Garden Salad! Though the historic working farm here on Roanoke Island is closed to visitors for the season, they offer periodic “veggie drops” throughout the winter months, which sell out QUICKLY. We were fortunate enough to grab some of these beautiful radishes grown in that dark, rich Roanoke Island soil. Drop by this week and taste the many local flavors at Lost Colony Tavern!
