Come by the shop and grab a bike for a two hour rental to see some shops 🛍️, grab lunch 🌮, or go check out the lighthouse and Springer’s Point 🐚. Or rent a bike for the day and take a leisurely bike ride around the village, to the beach for sunset 🌊🌅 or out to dinner 🥂, and pedal over to the coffee shop ☕️🥯in the morning before returning your bike back to us! Or rent a bike for the week and pick it up at the start of your visit to the island or let us deliver them to your doorstep! 🌞🚲

We tour in all kinds of weather (when it's safe to do so) and this morning was no exception. 🌧 Fun, a little messy but absolutely memorable.☔️

"We certainly brought the ADVENTURE today in Wild Horse ADVENTURE Tours! 🤣🤣🤣" said Jason, our tour guide extraordinaire, of his morning ride where he captured this harem enjoying the September rain.

Though we closed our later tours today and tomorrow due to unsafe beach conditions due to the weather, we look forward to resuming our tour schedule later in the week.

Fresh from Outer Banks -- Chip Hemingway, the architect who designed Jennette’s Pier, is also an accomplished artist and he recently won Best of Show in the Fresh from the Outer Banks Plein-air painting festival with more than seventy-five artists. He’s pictured with the winning painting in the second-floor gallery at Dare Arts in Manteo during First Friday. According to their website, Plein air artists are invited to come celebrate this “open-air” style of painting. It’s a wonderful time of year to get outside, connect with other artists, and discover the beauty and charm of the Outer Banks, they reported.
Hemingway, has been painting in the OBX for decades. He has also been the architect for the renovation of the Oregon Inlet Life Saving Station, the original expansion of the Roanoke Island Aquarium and multiple renovations at Roanoke Island Festival Park. He also created the masterplan for the National Audubon Pine Island Sanctuary and currently continues renovations at his beloved Jennette’s Pier. His firm, Bowman Murray and Hemingway is located in Wilmington.

Dear NC Coast/Red Sky family and customers: We’re proud and excited to introduce the newest leader in our NC Coast and Red Sky family, Jackie Stepp, who is stepping into the role of Director of Operations. With her heart, vision, and a wealth of experience, she is set to bring a new era of growth, innovation, and excellence to our restaurants.
Jackie Stepp, with over a decade of hospitality leadership and event management experience, has held management positions with nationally recognized restaurant groups, including Ashley Christensen Restaurants in Raleigh, where she served as Assistant General Manager and Events Execution Manager, overseeing daily operations, staff development, and private event execution.
She also brings firsthand knowledge of the Outer Banks dining scene, having previously served as General Manager of Red Sky Café. Most recently, Jackie worked as an independent restaurant consultant, helping ownership teams strengthen operations and staff performance.
She will focus on unifying and supporting the teams across all three concepts in this role.
As the daughter of our Executive Chef, Wes Stepp, Jackie’s new leadership is more than professional — it’s deeply personal. We’re excited for this new chapter and our continued evolution under her guidance! Welcome back Jackie!!
